Job Summary
Seeking a Physician Assistant to join our team! We are a highly specialized plastic surgery practice speacializing in microsurgical breast reconstruction. Our surgeons operate at Honorhealth Greenbaum, HonorHealth Osborn, Honorhealth Shea, Chandler Regional Medical Center and Honor Health Deer Valley. We have office locations in Phoenix and Chandler, with a new location coming in Peoria.
As a Physician Assistant, you will be examining patients, collecting patient medical history, and making tentative diagnoses on minor and major issues. You will also be reading diagnostic tests and reports, interpreting data, taking the time with each patient to explain their test results and medical diagnoses, and prescribing therapy or medication with a physician’s approval. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, experience charting in a medical environment, compassion, strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience assisting in surgical procedures. Typical business hours are 7:30am-5pm. No after hours weekday call and no ER call. Weekend call once every 3 weeks and there is no general ER call – only our established patients are address including rounding on people admitted over the weekend. We request that you only apply to this position if you have had 2 or more years experience as a surgical Physician Associate.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the operating room with surgical procedures
  • Each PA is responsible for submitting their surgical assist facesheets to our billing team
  • Rounding on patients that are admitted in the hospital throughout the week
  • Assisting in clinic – which includes minor procedures, drain management, prepping patients for surgery and scribing
  • Acting as a point of contact for patient’s clinical questions through our secure texting platform and email
  • PA clinic once a week
  • Read test results, interpret data appropriately, and make diagnostic suggestions based on those results
  • Explain to the patient test results and expected health outcomes
  • Prescribe medication or therapy with a physician overseeing as part of a larger health plan
  • Work closely with nurses, other Physician Assistants, and Physicians to formulate a full, comprehensive treatment plan

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensing required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with medical terminology, charting, and diagnostic tests
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
