Job Description
We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant that will contribute to Western Vascular Institutes mission by evaluating and managing patients with vascular disease(s), including chronic and acute management . In this position, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. As a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important.
Position specific details are as follows; will see patients in our office, assist with hospital rounding, triage phone calls and urgent cases, review test results, and take occasional weekend call.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities
- Complies with all HIPAA and OSHA guidelines according to ACG policies and procedures
- Complies with the CMS “Incident To” regulations as appropriate
- Complies with all Arizona state laws
- Complies with all applicable regulatory requirements (DEA, AZ Pharmacy Board, etc.)
- Evaluates and manages “urgent add-in” patients referred from triage phone calls, walk ins or clinical staff
- Reviews labs and other test results to determine clinical significance and immediacy of follow-up care
- Follows all provider documentation guidelines for timely completion of documentation
- Completes Peer to Peer calls for authorization of testing within 48 hours
- Maintains patient communication, including phone calls and patient portal communication
- Conducts hospital rounding with or prior to the collaborating physician(s)
- All other duties assigned by the collaborating physician(s)
- On Call rotational with other mid-levels

Qualifications
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program, with current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Arizona, and appropriately certified to care for adult patients in the field of cardiovascular medicine.

- EMR Used: GE Centricity, Medstreaming/FIVOS, NextGen, Dragon Software
