Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Sports Medicine

About The Performance Medicine InstituteThe Performance Medicine Institute is an integrative sports medicine clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. We specialize in non-operative musculoskeletal conditions, exercise and lifestyle medicine, and pelvic disorders. We combine advanced diagnostics, regenerative therapies, and movement-based care to help patients recover from injury, restore function, and enhance performance.

Our approach extends beyond the source of pain or joint dysfunction to address the comorbidities that contribute to or result from musculoskeletal disease, including obesity, metabolic dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, and deconditioning. By targeting both the cause and the contributing systemic factors, we deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care that restores performance and long-term health.

We are expanding our clinical team and seeking a mid-career Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in sports medicine, orthopedics, pain management, or procedural specialties (such as urology). Candidates who have a strong clinical foundation and a passion for research, innovation, and evidence-based care are encouraged to apply.

Position OverviewThis is a full-time outpatient role for a clinician who enjoys procedural work, diagnostic problem-solving, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The provider will manage a diverse caseload of musculoskeletal and co-morbid conditions, while also participating in clinical research and ongoing performance medicine initiatives.

Responsibilities– Evaluate, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal and pain-related conditions- Perform or assist with procedures including joint and soft tissue injections, ultrasound-guided interventions, and regenerative treatments- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans- Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and research staff- Participate in data collection and clinical research projects- Provide education and guidance on injury prevention and performance optimization- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in eClinicalWorks EMR

Qualifications– Board certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner- 2+ years of experience in orthopedics, pain medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, or a procedural specialty (e.g., urology)- Strong procedural and clinical reasoning skills- Experience or interest in research and outcomes tracking- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities- Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
