Responsibilities
Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in the Department of Urology on the Phoenix campus work within care teams comprised of both physicians and NP/PAs working collaboratively. In a care team model, NP/PAs are partnered with individual physicians to support patient care needs of the team. In addition to supporting team based care, the NP/PA also maintains their own clinic with individual patients. Together, the teams provide care for a wide range of patients across subspecialties including genitourinary oncology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive urology, medical urology, endourology, and men’s health and infertility.
The NP/PA role in Urology requires outpatient clinic only. Within the clinical setting, NP/PAs provide evaluations and consults with indirect supervision and may be involved in outpatient procedures. Additionally, the NP/PA team interacts and partners with resident and fellow staff, and is actively engaged in educational activities with rotating NP/PA students and the department’s developing Urology NP/PA Fellowship Program.
During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.
