Position Summary:

Valley Arthritis Care is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our dynamic rheumatology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rheumatology or internal medicine and demonstrate a passion for managing complex autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions. You will work in close collaboration with board-certified rheumatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations

  • Diagnose and manage a range of rheumatologic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, psoriatic arthritis, and other autoimmune disorders

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging

  • Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed

  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, medication use, and lifestyle modifications

  • Perform joint injections and aspirations, as appropriate

  • Coordinate care with infusion services and specialty pharmacies

  • Document patient encounters clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Required: Current Physician Assistant certification (PA-C) and Arizona license (or eligibility)

  • Preferred: At least 1 year of clinical experience in rheumatology highly preferred, but not required.

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills

  • Comfort with chronic disease management and long-term patient relationships

  • Proficiency in EMR systems and documentation best practices

  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and lifelong learning
