OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and patient management across diverse medical settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, vital signs measurement, and documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions across various specialties including internal medicine, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal care, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, injections (including botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, and basic airway management techniques.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient care by coordinating triage processes, monitoring ventilator use, administering IV infusions, and supporting ICU or Level I & II trauma center patients with critical care needs.
- Participate in diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging and laboratory data collection; interpret ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Support hospital discharge planning, post-acute care coordination, and home care services to ensure seamless patient transitions.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives and clinical trials to advance evidence-based practices; contribute to data collection efforts for quality improvement projects.
- Administer medications safely following aseptic techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Provide health coaching and addiction counseling; educate patients on disease prevention, nutrition, family planning, and occupational health topics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency rooms, surgical units (including OR experience), neonatal intensive care units (PICU), dialysis centers, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate medical records by documenting intake assessments, medication administration details, CPT coding procedures, and ICD coding for billing compliance.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; proficient in data management and medical records documentation.
- Strong clinical skills including physical examinations, diagnostic evaluation techniques, suturing, injection administration (including Botox), airway management, and ventilator support.
- Knowledge of advanced medical procedures such as cardiac catheterization, spinal taps (lumbar punctures), gastric lavage, dialysis management, radiation therapy support roles, and dermal filler procedures.
- Familiarity with critical care environments including ICU settings with ventilator management; Level I & II trauma center experience highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) and CPT coding for billing accuracy; understanding of healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA.
- Ability to perform triage effectively in urgent care or emergency room settings; experience managing acute pain cases and infectious disease care protocols.
- Demonstrated capability in clinical research activities including data collection for clinical trials; experience with public health initiatives is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support complex diagnostic evaluations; adept at interpreting laboratory results and radiology reports.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education on health promotion strategies; compassionate approach suited for senior care or family planning consultations.
- Proven ability to work efficiently within hospital environments—medical-surgical units or outpatient clinics—while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality assurance standards such as NCQA standards or infection control protocols. Pay: $125,000.00 – $165,000.00 per year
