Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) will provide high-quality, patient-centered care under the supervision of a licensed physician, in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies. This position involves diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic health conditions while promoting wellness and disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in alignment with current standards of care.
- Perform minor procedures, including suturing, wound care, and diagnostic tests.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, prevention, and treatment options.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers for coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices.
- Provide telehealth services as needed.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
- Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with an active NP license.
- Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited PA program with an active PA license.
- Board Certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP for NPs or NCCPA for PAs).
- Current BLS/ACLS certification.
Experience:
- 3+ of clinical experience in a related specialty (e.g., primary care, urgent care, internal medicine, etc.).
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in patient education and counseling.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Work Environment:
- Primarily in a clinical setting with occasional travel for outreach programs, if applicable.
- May require evening, weekend, or on-call hours, depending on the organizational needs.
