American Family Care (AFC) is seeking experienced Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art urgent care facility in Athens, AL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician.
- Manage chronic illness care in partnership with physicians.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of healthcare issues.
- Educate patients and families on preventive care, treatment plans, and medication use.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
- Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
- Promote preventive and health maintenance care through patient education and counseling.
- Stay current with medical advancements and integrate new knowledge into practice.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (PANCE).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in primary or urgent care.
- Skills: Proficient in using EMR systems, flexible with weekends and holidays, excellent communication skills, and a positive, patient-first attitude.
