American Family Care (AFC) is seeking experienced Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art urgent care facility in Athens, AL. With a minimum of 2 years of experience in primary or urgent care, you could be the perfect addition to our growing team!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician.
  • Manage chronic illness care in partnership with physicians.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of healthcare issues.
  • Educate patients and families on preventive care, treatment plans, and medication use.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Conduct Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications within your scope of practice.
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care through patient education and counseling.
  • Stay current with medical advancements and integrate new knowledge into practice.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure: Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (PANCE).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in primary or urgent care.
  • Skills: Proficient in using EMR systems, flexible with weekends and holidays, excellent communication skills, and a positive, patient-first attitude.
