Position Overview

This is a full-time, salaried position and is not limited to a standard 40-hour workweek. The role includes both clinic and hospital responsibilities.

Educational Requirements

  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP-C)
  • Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Alabama
  • Active credentials required to assist in surgical procedures at local facilities
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association

Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is preferred but not required
  • Ortho Experience Preferred
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures related to patient care
  • Understanding of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment
  • Familiarity with HIPAA rules and regulations
  • Strong skills in documentation, report writing, and professional correspondence
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
  • Ability to adapt to and apply clinical guidelines and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, OR staff, and team members

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during surgical procedures as directed
  • Support physicians in clinic by evaluating and treating patients with various injuries and illnesses
  • Conduct hospital rounds and respond to consults
  • Dictate discharge summaries and consultation reports
  • Accurately document patient care and treatment
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Perform patient histories, physical exams, and administer medications and injections

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
