Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery (Anchorage, Alaska)

Relocation Available | Signing Bonus Negotiable

Pay: From $145,000 per year (DOE)

AFOC has locations in midtown Anchorage, South Anchorage, Eagle River, Palmer and Wasilla. This opening is for our main clinic on Lake Otis Parkway, in midtown Anchorage.

Position Overview

AFOC has an exciting opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work directly with an Orthopedic Surgeon in both clinic and hospital settings. This role offers a dynamic mix of patient care, surgical assisting, and hospital rounding, including occasional holiday rounding.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated PA seeking to build or expand their career in orthopedic surgery while working closely with an experienced surgeon in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist orthopedic surgeon in clinic and hospital settings
  • Participate in hospital rounds, including occasional holiday coverage
  • Evaluate patients, perform assessments, and support treatment planning
  • Assist in surgical procedures as needed
  • Provide patient education and support positive patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with physician and care team to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Qualifications

  • Alaska licensure required
  • Board-certified Physician Assistant preferred
  • Orthopedic and surgical experience preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Comfortable making independent clinical decisions within scope of practice
  • Strong patient assessment and clinical evaluation skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a flexible schedule
  • Dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Effective communication and collaboration with physicians and care teams
