Nurse Practitioner – Functional & Holistic Medicine

Location: Fairfax, VirginiaPosition Type: Part-Time or Full-TimeSchedule: 2 days per week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Nurse Practitioner to join a private medical office in Fairfax, Virginia. This is a specialized part-time or full-time opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical background in functional medicine, holistic healthcare, and integrative approaches to patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of hands-on experience practicing functional medicine and a genuine understanding of whole-person, individualized healthcare. The candidate should be comfortable working with patients seeking alternative and integrative approaches to wellness and treatment.

This position requires direct, hands-on functional medicine experience. Candidates who have only an interest in functional medicine but do not have professional experience are strongly encouraged not to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient evaluations and individualized care within the scope of practice
• Apply functional and holistic medicine principles to patient assessment and treatment planning
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, symptoms, goals, and clinical needs
• Provide patient education regarding wellness, lifestyle, nutrition, preventative care, and integrative treatment approaches
• Evaluate and manage patients receiving IV therapy and infusion treatments
• Assess and manage patients receiving hormone replacement therapy
• Evaluate and manage patients utilizing peptide therapies
• Demonstrate knowledge of alternative and complementary approaches to cancer care and treatment, while practicing within applicable laws, regulations, clinical standards, and scope of practice
• Monitor patients throughout treatments and follow appropriate safety protocols
• Review relevant laboratory testing and incorporate appropriate findings into individualized treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when appropriate
• Provide compassionate, personalized, and patient-centered care
• Stay current with developments, research, and education related to functional, holistic, and integrative medicine
• Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, professional standards, and office protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional experience in functional medicine
• Demonstrated experience practicing in a functional, holistic, integrative, or similar healthcare setting
• Experience with IV therapy and infusions
• Experience with hormone replacement therapy
• Experience with peptide therapies
• Knowledge and experience with alternative and integrative approaches to cancer care
• Strong clinical assessment and patient-management skills
• Excellent communication and patient-education skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
• Strong commitment to individualized, whole-person patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional education, certifications, or advanced training in functional, integrative, or holistic medicine
• Experience interpreting and utilizing comprehensive laboratory testing
• Experience working with wellness and preventative healthcare programs
• Strong knowledge of nutrition and lifestyle-based approaches to health
• Experience working with patients seeking alternatives or complements to conventional medical treatment

Important Qualification

Hands-on functional medicine experience is a requirement for this position.

Candidates must have at least two years of direct professional experience in functional medicine. An interest in functional or holistic medicine alone does not meet the requirements for this position.
