Advanced Practice Provider New Paris, PA 2 DAYS AGO 22964546 Summary New Paris, PA In-Person Competitive Salary 3 Years Experience Bachelor’s degree No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients. Works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. Primary Job Responsibilities: Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatement for a specified patient population. Efficiently uses the electronic medical record (EMR) and complete documentation in a timely manner. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatement regiemns as appropriate to assess medical conditions. Refers patients to specialists and to relavant patient care components as appropriate. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives , continuous quality imporvement objectives, and safety , environmental, and/or infection control standards. As appropriate to the position, participates in specfiied health promotion, education and /or prevention programs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Education: Graduate of NP or PA program Experience NP: Minimum three years of professional nursining experience in a clinic setting. Two years of nurse practitioner experience is preferred. PA: One year of experience as PA in an office setting preferred. Minimum Job Requirements: Current state registered nurse license Current State NP or PA License Current Federal DEA Certification Current Board certification or Board Eligibility Performance Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions , and progress. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and abillity to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise. Ability to develop and present education programs and/or workshops. Additional Requirements: Willingness to work evenings and /or weekends as needed. Continue medical education to maintain active licensure. CPR Certification Pre-employment background investigation. Equipment Operated: Standard medical examination room equipment and instruments. Using computer/health information management system. Work Environment: Combination of exam rooms and medical offices. Frequent exposure to commuicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinial preperations, and other conidtions common to a clinic environment. Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform tasks such as standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range.
