Director of Didactic Education/Didactic Coordinator for Physician Assistant program

This is a 12-month full-time faculty member with administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited PA Program
  • NCCPA-certified PA
  • Eligible for or currently possess Kentucky PA licensure without a history of negative board action
  • Master’s degree required
  • 3 years of clinical experience
  • 3 years full-time higher education experience at time of appointment preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities are, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the program’s didactic phase,
  • Demonstrate responsibility for and actively participate in the processes of:

o developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program,

o student recruitment and selecting applicants for admission to the PA Program,

o providing student teaching and instruction,

o academic counseling of students and evaluation of student performance,

o assuring the availability of remedial instruction,

o development/designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, and

o evaluating the program,

  • Serve as a liaison for instructional faculty,
  • Support the development of supervised clinical practice experience sites,
  • Participate in and support accreditation related activities, including administrative aspects of the program,
  • Adherence to University and PA Program policies and procedures,
  • Participate in scholarship and service activities as required to maintain licensure and board certification.
