Full Job Description
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. Consult with staff physicians as needed.
- Within the course of a primary care visit prescribe appropriate medications, order necessary screening and diagnostic tests, and confers and refers for specialty care, when necessary.
- Performs health assessments and physical examinations for adults and children, develops patient plans and works with patients/families to develop self-management goals.
- As appropriate to the position, participates in specific health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
- Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.
Education and Experience:
- Must have a current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant medical license to practice.
- Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses/Medical Board of California.
- Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs.
- Current BLS certification and current national certificate.
