We are seeking a Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery PA in Lexington, Kentucky. Job description Med Ninjas is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgery PA for long term locum tenens coverage at a inpatient facility in Lexington, Kentucky The PA-C must be available for the complete coverage block from November 26, 2026 to ongoing Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Shift: Monday Friday: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM + overnight call 7:00 PM 7:00 AM; weekends: 24-hour shifts, 7:00 AM 7:00 AM Start Date: November 26, 2026 End Date: Ongoing Position Details: Primarily weekend and vacation coverage; 1 2 call days per week; approximately 1 weekend per month, Friday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM. Current coverage dates include Nov , Dec , Jan 29, Feb , Apr 3 11, and May , with additional ongoing dates TBD. Current volume is fairly low at approximately 1 2 surgeries per day. Patient Population: Not specified Setting: Inpatient, telemetry, ICU, and OR Responsibilities: Work in support of cardiothoracic surgeons; first assisting in CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection; surgical CT; vein harvesting; chest tube placement; OR responsibilities; inpatient/telemetry responsibilities; ICU responsibilities; inpatient rounds; and procedures and surgery during weekend coverage Required Procedures: First assisting in CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection; vein harvesting; chest tube placement Support Staff: Cardiothoracic surgeons Days Per Month: 1 2 call days per week; approximately 1 weekend per month On-Call/Weekends: Overnight call 7:00 PM 7:00 AM; approximately 1 weekend per month; weekends include 24-hour shifts from 7:00 AM 7:00 AM Requirements: Board Certification – Required ACLS and BLS – Required DEA – Required Kentucky license highly preferred
