About the JobOrthopedic Spine Surgery PA/NP OpportunityMedStar Orthopedics at Brandywine – Brandywine, MD & Lorton, VA MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Orthopedic Spine Surgery team and work closely with Dr. David A. Weiner, Orthopedic Spine Surgeon. This is a full-time opportunity based primarily out of Brandywine, MD, with patient care at our Lorton, VA office as well. The APP will provide both outpatient clinic care and first-assist support in the operating room.Position OverviewFull-time, Monday–Friday8-hour shiftsNo weekends, nights, or holidaysPrimary location: Brandywine, MDAdditional clinic coverage in Lorton, VAWork directly with an experienced Orthopedic Spine SurgeonClinical ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and manage new patientsEvaluate established and post-operative patientsConduct independent clinic visitsDevelop treatment plans and coordinate patient careProvide follow-up care for spine patientsSurgical ResponsibilitiesFirst assist in orthopedic spine surgeryWork closely with Dr. Weiner in the operating roomSupport surgical procedures and perioperative patient careQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programCurrent PA or NP certification and licensureOrthopedic/spine experience preferredNP candidates must have First Assist/RNFA certificationNew graduates with strong orthopedic experience or interest may be consideredStrong clinical assessment, communication, and surgical skillsMedStar Health BenefitsCompetitive salaryMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid malpractice insuranceGenerous PTOCME leave and allowance403(b) retirement plan with employer matchJoin MedStar Health, a nationally recognized health system and the largest provider of healthcare services in the Baltimore/Washington region.
