Urgent Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Pratitioner

Full Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA-C) /Nurse Practitioner(NP) to join our urgent care team. The provider will provide high-quality, efficient care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and common medical conditions in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate is clinically confident, able to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and committed to delivering an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Develop appropriate differential diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other appropriate tests.
• Perform common urgent care procedures, including wound care, suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, foreign-body removal, and other procedures within the provider’s scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications and provide appropriate patient education and follow-up instructions.
• Recognize patients requiring a higher level of care and arrange appropriate emergency department or specialist referrals.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record (EMR), Athena.
• Provide preventive health counseling and education when appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards of care.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based urgent care practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA/ NP program.
• MD PA/NP license
• Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
• NCCPA certification (PA-C) or NP certificate
• Current DEA registration, as applicable.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred or required based on organizational policy.
• Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or a related acute-care setting preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality care, and customer service.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship, Contract

Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour
