Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Orthopedic Urgent Care

About the Position
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our orthopedic urgent care practice in San Antonio, TX.
This is a full-time position with a consistent Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM schedule, providing convenient access to orthopedic care for patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedics, urgent care, emergency medicine, sports medicine, or a related clinical setting and be comfortable evaluating and treating a wide range of orthopedic injuries.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal complaints
- Diagnose and manage conditions such as fractures, sprains, strains, joint injuries, and sports-related injuries
- Obtain and interpret appropriate diagnostic imaging, including X-rays
- Perform minor procedures as appropriate, including splinting, casting, wound care, and suturing
- Develop treatment plans and provide patient education
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with orthopedic specialists when indicated
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced urgent care environment
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the clinical team
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Texas PA or NP license
- National certification appropriate to the position
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the clinical team
- Previous experience in orthopedics, urgent care, emergency medicine, sports medicine, or a related specialty preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Schedule
