Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Physician Assistant at St. Charles Surgical Hospital in New Orleans, LA. The Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing healthcare services under the supervision of a physician. The Physician Assistant will primarily serve as first assist in surgery and perform preoperative and postoperative care. Other tasks include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, and counseling on preventive care.

Qualifications

• Licensure and Certification: Valid Physician Assistant licensure in the State of Louisiana and certification from an accredited program
• Clinical Skills: Proficiency in conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Surgical Assistance: Experience assisting in surgery and providing preoperative and postoperative care
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure healthcare setting
• Patient Care: Strong patient and family-focused care approach
• Experience in breast reconstruction or surgical care is a plus
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
• On-call coverage as may be assigned and subject to modification.
• Other duties as assigned by attending Physicians and the Director of Clinical Operations.*
