Job Summary

Pima Pain Center is seeking a qualified and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our pain management team. A current, unrestricted DEA registration is required.

We are dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions. Our patient-centered approach focuses on listening to our patients, understanding their individual needs, and developing appropriate treatment plans designed to improve function and quality of life.

The NP/PA will provide care to adult patients in an outpatient clinical setting while working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality and compassionate patient care.

Previous pain management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Obtain and document comprehensive medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and the clinical team.
• Assess patient response to treatment and modify plans of care when clinically appropriate.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging.
• Prescribe and manage medications within the provider’s authorized scope of practice and in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.
• Perform appropriate in-office procedures within the provider’s training, competency, privileges, and scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, procedures, and ongoing pain management strategies.
• Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and respect when interacting with patients and their families.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Advocate for patients and assist with coordination and continuity of care.
• Manage patient schedules and clinical responsibilities efficiently while maintaining quality of care.
• Travel to and provide patient care at other Pima Pain Center locations as needed based on scheduling and operational needs.
• Participate in practice meetings, clinical initiatives, and the development or implementation of policies and procedures as appropriate.
• Follow all organizational policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates must meet the applicable requirements for their professional designation as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, including:
• Current and unrestricted Arizona PA or APRN/NP license, as applicable.
• Current applicable national NP or PA certification.
• Current and active DEA registration.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required credentialing and clinical privileges.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Ability and willingness to travel between Pima Pain Center locations as needed to support patient care and operational needs.

Experience in pain management, interventional pain medicine, spine care, orthopedics, neurology, or a related specialty is preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
