MedStar Medical Group Radiology is currently seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing Diagnostic Radiology team. In this role, the Physician Assistant will work closely with radiologists to support clinical care and imaging services that enhance patient safety, improve workflow efficiency, and optimize imaging quality. The position will primarily support Body Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Neuroradiology services at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, with additional coverage at Lafayette Centre. Schedule:Monday–Friday, 5 eight-hour shiftsNo call and no weekend coveragePreferred Experience:Diagnostic radiology or hospital-based acute care experience is preferred. Washington, DC licensure is required. Key Responsibilities:Assist with diagnostic procedures, including lumbar punctures, myelography, spine and joint interventions, and head and neck biopsies (training and supervision provided by attending radiologists)Support fluoroscopic procedures such as modified barium swallow studies, upper GI exams, barium enemas, and hysterosalpingography (HSG)Review relevant clinical history, prior imaging, and laboratory results prior to procedures and studiesObtain patient histories and perform focused clinical assessmentsObtain informed consent and provide thorough pre- and post-procedure patient educationProtocol MRI and CT examinations in collaboration with radiologistsProvide MRI safety support, including screening for implants and devices and ensuring compliance with safety protocolsAdminister and monitor CT perfusion studies and contrast injections per institutional protocolsIdentify and manage contrast reactions in accordance with established guidelinesMonitor patients during and after procedures, including pre- and post-procedure clinic visitsAccurately document clinical encounters and procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR)Communicate effectively with referring providers, technologists, nursing staff, and the broader care teamEnvironment:This is a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team environment with a strong emphasis on collegiality and clinical excellence.
