Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Aesthetic Physician Assistant to join our innovative plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine team. In this role, you will deliver advanced cosmetic treatments, including botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers, while also assisting our board-certified plastic surgeon in the operating room during cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures. You will provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, helping patients achieve their aesthetic goals through both surgical and non-surgical treatment options. Responsibilities

  • Perform non-surgical aesthetic procedures such as botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, chemical peels, skin rejuvenation therapies, and other cosmetic treatments with precision and safety.
  • First assist the plastic surgeon during cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures, including patient positioning, sterile preparation, tissue handling, wound closure, dressing application, and perioperative patient care in accordance with California PA scope of practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, vital signs measurement, and physical examinations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Assist in pre-operative evaluations and provide post-operative follow-up care, ensuring optimal healing, patient education, and continuity of care.
  • Educate patients on surgical and non-surgical treatment options, expected outcomes, potential risks, and post-procedure care to foster informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with the plastic surgeon and clinical team to develop customized treatment plans aligned with each patient’s aesthetic goals.
  • Maintain meticulous medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
  • Participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continued growth and innovation of the practice.

Experience

  • Experience as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider within plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, dermatology, or aesthetic medicine is preferred.
  • Experience first assisting in the operating room or assisting surgeons during surgical procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in cosmetic injectable treatments, including botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PatientNow for documentation and patient management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, facial anatomy, wound healing, aseptic technique, and perioperative patient management.
  • Experience working in outpatient surgery centers, ambulatory surgery centers (ASC), hospital surgical services, or plastic surgery practices is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations, interpret diagnostic information, and develop appropriate patient care plans.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and additional certifications in aesthetic medicine or cosmetic procedures are a plus.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
