Full Job Description

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA-C) — PSYCHIATRY

Full-Time · W-2

ABOUT US

Hawkins Psychiatry PLLC is an established outpatient psychiatric practice serving adults and adolescents in Arlington, Mansfield, and the greater DFW metroplex. Led by Dr. Germaine Hawkins, D.O., an adult psychiatrist and U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps veteran, our practice combines traditional psychiatric care with advanced FDA-approved treatments including TMS therapy and Spravato® (esketamine).

We are a physician-led practice where providers have direct access to their supervising physician, meaningful autonomy, and the support to practice good medicine without a corporate quota culture.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our outpatient psychiatric team. You will carry your own of patients, performing psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management under a physician supervision and prescriptive delegation agreement with Dr. Hawkins.

This role includes involvement in our interventional psychiatry services — evaluating patients for TMS and Spravato, discussing treatment options, and supporting patients through treatment initiation. If you have wanted exposure to interventional psychiatry, this is a practice where you will get it.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Provide ongoing medication management for a range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and ADHD
  • Assess patients for appropriateness for TMS and Spravato, including determination of treatment resistance
  • Conduct patient education and informed consent discussions
  • Coordinate care with treatment staff, therapists, and outside providers
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the supervising physician and clinical team

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • Active, unrestricted Texas Physician Assistant license (or license eligibility)
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Active DEA registration, or willingness to obtain prior to start date
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and comfort working with a psychiatric population

Preferred (but not required)

  • 2+ years of clinical experience is a plus, but not required — new graduates with a strong interest in psychiatry are encouraged to apply, and we are prepared to train and mentor the right candidate
  • Prior psychiatric or behavioral health experience
  • Familiarity with interventional psychiatry (TMS, esketamine, or similar)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Base salary Range: $120,000 to 135,000 per year, W-2 (based on experience)
  • RVU-based productivity bonus: In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a productivity bonus under our RVU compensation model, reconciled and paid quarterly. Full details of the RVU schedule and conversion factor are provided during the interview process.
  • Annual compensation review
  • CME allowance: $1,500 per year, plus 3 dedicated CME days separate from PTO
  • Paid time off and paid practice-observed holidays
  • Malpractice coverage provided and paid by the practice
  • Licensure and dues reimbursement: Texas PA license renewal, DEA registration, NCCPA certification maintenance, and professional society membership
  • No state income tax in Texas

LOCATION

Primary location is our Arlington office at 3614 S. Cooper St., Suite 120. Occasional coverage may be requested at our Mansfield location (2800 E. Broad St., Suite 400, Mansfield, TX 76063).
