Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong Neuro and Ortho skills for a Level I Trauma hospital OR Specialty unit in North Dakota.

Details

  • Large acute care hospital OR setting with 25 suites averaging 75–100 cases per day
  • Specialty OR unit with a primary focus on Neuro (craniotomies, spine) and versatility across Ortho, ENT, Plastics, General, and some Trauma cases
  • Level I Trauma facility
  • 8- or 10-hour day shifts with the expectation to stay late as needed to complete scheduled cases (not considered call back)
  • Call required 1–2 shifts per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend
  • Epic EMR used in this position
  • Orthopedic implant systems in use include Zimmer, DePuy, Biomet, and Stryker total replacement systems
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience required
  • Strong Neuro experience required, with emphasis on craniotomies and spine cases
  • Strong Ortho scrub experience required; must be comfortable working across General cases as well
  • Experience with robotic-assisted surgery required
  • Experience in at least one of the following orthopedic implant systems required: Zimmer, DePuy, Biomet, or Stryker
  • Experience in a large acute care hospital with more than 15 OR suites required
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Must be listed on the North Dakota Board of Nursing Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry at least one week prior to start date; proof of application initiation must be provided within 3 business days of offer acceptance
  • License required if applicable
  • Two professional references required for consideration: one from a direct supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the position’s specialty within the last 3 years
  • All certifications must be active at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted

Additional Information

  • Assist the surgeon and OR team in providing safe and effective surgical care across Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Plastics, General, and Trauma cases
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles of the facility may be eligible but will be considered at a reduced local travel rate
  • Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
  • A manager interview will take place prior to any offer being extended
  • Scrubs are provided in Ceil Blue
  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
