M.N. Shamsi, PC is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our outpatient mental health practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to provide high-quality psychiatric and behavioral health care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with psychiatrists, therapists, office staff, and multidisciplinary teams while utilizing Azalea Health EMR to support comprehensive patient care. Candidates with experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, hospital medicine, telehealth, medication management, or critical care are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a provider who is organized, patient-centered, adaptable, and committed to delivering compassionate care to children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, physical assessments, and follow-up visits
• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood disorders, and related behavioral health concerns
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide medication management and monitor patient response to treatment
• Utilize Azalea Health EMR for timely and accurate documentation, treatment planning, ICD-10/CPT coding, and patient communication
• Order and interpret laboratory testing and diagnostic studies as clinically appropriate
• Provide telehealth services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and quality patient care standards
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, care coordinators, and support staff regarding patient treatment and continuity of care
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, mental health conditions, coping strategies, wellness, and available community resources
• Maintain completion of charts, encounters, and clinical documentation within office-required timeframes
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and clinical team discussions
• Respond appropriately to urgent psychiatric concerns, triage situations, and crisis management needs when necessary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license required
• NCCPA certification required
• Active DEA license required
• Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, outpatient medicine, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine preferred
• Familiarity with psychotropic medications and behavioral health treatment planning preferred
• Experience with EMR systems required; Azalea Health EMR experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding practices
• Strong patient assessment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Telehealth experience preferred
• BLS certification required

Preferred Experience

• Outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health experience
• Crisis intervention or triage experience
• Medication management experience
• Hospital, ICU, or emergency medicine background
• Experience serving diverse patient populations across the lifespan
• Familiarity with Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation standards
