Position Summary
novakind Health is redefining modern primary care by pairing clinical excellence with a streamlined, unhurried patient experience. We are seeking a California-licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to deliver expert-level comprehensive care to our adult and geriatric patient panels.
This role focuses heavily on patient-centered preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and acute care.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Clinical Care Delivery: Conduct comprehensive wellness exams, take detailed medical histories, perform physical examinations, and document preventative health metrics.
- Diagnosis & Treatment Management: Formulate accurate diagnoses, order and interpret diagnostic studies (radiology, laboratory data), and develop evidence-based short- and long-term treatment plans.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform minor, routine office-based procedures (e.g., suturing, minor skin/nail excisions, wart removals) safely and effectively.
- Prescription & Care Coordination: Prescribe medications and therapies in compliance with California state regulations and DEA guidelines. Facilitate timely specialist referrals and therapeutic consultations.
- Patient Education: Counsel and educate patients and families regarding chronic disease paths, preventive lifestyle modifications, and treatment compliance.
- Modern Care Delivery: Utilize digital channels and participate in telehealth consultations to extend care access.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous, timely chart documentation within the EHR. Maintain appropriate supervisory relationships (for PAs) or standardized procedure protocols/independent review standards (for NPs) in strict accordance with California state laws.
Experience & Qualifications
- Clinical Expertise: Strong foundation in adult and geriatric primary care medicine with a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience in an outpatient primary care setting.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to explain complex medical data clearly to patients, families, and team members.
- Tech-Competency: Proficiency with modern EHR systems, digital scheduling interfaces, and virtual care platforms. Proficiency in CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for billing purposes.
- Administrative Readiness: Possess an active National Provider Identifier (NPI) and meet all current Medicare/commercial insurance billing requirements.
Education, Licensure, & Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Active, unrestricted California State License (PA-C or NP).
- Active DEA License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / ACLS Certification.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while conducting patient visits or documenting.
- Requires the physical dexterity to perform minor clinical procedures and examinations.
- Must occasionally move or lift medical equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Fine motor skills required to operate standard clinic diagnostic tools and computer systems.

Pay: $125,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
