Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Infusion Nurse to join our newly established infusion center. This vital role involves providing expert infusion therapy services, ensuring patient safety, and delivering compassionate care in a dynamic clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in infusion procedures, a strong foundation in various medical specialties, and a commitment to enhancing patient outcomes through precise and personalized nursing care. As an RN Infusion Nurse, you will play a crucial role in establishing our center’s reputation for excellence and innovation in infusion therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Administer a wide range of infusion therapies, including IV infusions ( SCIG and IVIG) and biologics, and specialty medications, adhering to established protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to infusion procedures, including vital signs, medical history review, and physiological evaluations.
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment sessions for adverse reactions or complications, responding swiftly with appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients on their treatment plans, medication administration, potential side effects, and post-infusion care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, pharmacists, and specialists—to coordinate care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards and aseptic techniques during all procedures to prevent contamination or infection risks.
  • Assist in the development of protocols for new infusion therapies and participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with IV insertion, catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration within diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine or outpatient clinics.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to infusion therapies, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Familiarity with complex medical procedures for ophthalmology or neurological conditions is advantageous.
  • Critical care experience from ICU or emergency medicine settings enhances ability to manage acute reactions effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills within a team environment focused on patient-centered care.
