Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history intake, and physiological evaluations.
- Manage acute pain and perform procedures such as suturing, injection administration, and basic aseptic techniques.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including radiology interpretation, laboratory data collection, and medical imaging review.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU management, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, and geriatrics.
- Participate in clinical research and clinical trials to advance evidence-based practices; contribute to data collection and analysis for quality improvement initiatives.
- Support triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings by prioritizing patient needs and coordinating timely interventions.
- Administer medications including botulinum toxin treatments and perform procedures like ventilator management or neonatal ventilator support when applicable.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics such as medication adherence, nutrition, addiction counseling, family planning, and post-discharge care planning.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with current state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding is preferred.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure; hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and pharmacology.
- Experience with procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, IV infusion, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), spinal tap, gastric lavage, and tube feeding.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Ability to perform physical examinations accurately while maintaining aseptic technique; excellent patient assessment skills are essential.
- Experience working in outpatient clinics or urgent care settings; telehealth experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation; familiarity with hospital inpatient coding standards is advantageous.
