Hennepin Healthcare has an opportunity for a full-time (1.0 FTE) advanced practice provider (APP) – Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – in our Hospital Medicine Division. The schedule will include a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays. This position will provide daily rounding cares to patients admitted to our inpatient and observation hospitalist teams, cross cover on all patients admitted to our inpatient and observation hospitalist teams, admit medicine patients for inpatient and observation care, and perform medicine consultation on patients as requested by specialty services.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide education, diagnosis, and treatment to patients and their families

Provide direct patient care to assigned population and refer to other healthcare professionals or agencies as necessary

Work collaboratively, in consultation with, and/or refer to medical staff as indicated by patient health status and medical condition

Obtain patient and family health history and perform physical examination appropriate to patient age and history

Assess patient health status and create plan of care in collaboration with physician, reassess and modify plan as needed to achieve medical and health promotion plans

Provide appropriate screening ad education to primary disease prevention and management and education for secondary and tertiary disease prevention and management

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program

Current license (or eligibility) to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota

Certification by an agency authorized to certify professional nurses in advanced practice or physician assistants
Preferred Qualifications:
-
1-2 years of experience treating adult patients in an inpatient medicine setting

If a new APP grad, inpatient medicine rotation experience strongly desired
SALARY
Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on years since licensure and specialty area. The grid below represents current pay rates (rates adjusted annually in April) for this position:
