Well established primary and specialty care private practice looking to hire a full time optometrist to join our family in providing exceptional care to central Massachusetts. Our schedule is a mix of 20 and 30 minute comprehensive exams as well as specialty care and medical exams. We have a dedicated office manager as well as support staff to aid in pretesting and specialty testing.
About the Practice:
Our family practice has been consistently providing care for over 100 years and has been owned and operated by the Thamel family for over 60 years! Our doctors provide comprehensive primary eye care that includes a significant amount of ocular disease.
We also provide a number of subspecialties. Vision therapy has been part of the practice since the 60s with a protocol that incorporates classic therapies as well as emerging technology. We have been providing dry eye treatment and specialty contact lenses for the past 15 years and low vision services were added in 2022. Our practice has been a proud member of Vision Source for the past 20 years and we benefit from participating in many of the programs they have to offer. Vision Source is a community of like minded optometrists in private practice in Massachusetts and across the nation.

We enjoy keeping up with the newest technology and highest quality products. Technology we utilize includes:
Monaco Pro Optos, MarcoTono-Ref/ODP3, Olleyes Virtual Visual Field, Maestro OCT, Ion Slit lamp camera, Marco automated Refraction system
Dry Eye: Oculus Keratograph 5M, Lipiscan, Lipiflow, Lumenis M22 IPL, photobiomodulation red and blue light therapy
VT/Binocular Vision: Neurolens, Righteye, Oculus VR, Sanet, Sports vision therapy, In office Vision Therapy w/3 vision therapists
Low Vision: Humanware CCTVs, Eschenbach CCTV and magnifiers, Orcam
Myopia management: Myopia master, topographer in each office, Misight, Stellest and Ortho K
Optical: Optikam, in office edging, Essilor products, Eyeruler 2
We are open to change and always looking for the best process or technology that allows us to provide our patients with the most efficient and comprehensive exam. We believe in asking questions, sharing ideas, and are open to supporting a newer grad or established practitioner.
We believe in investing in our team through opportunities to increase knowledge base as well as build comradery. We host quarterly meetings, 30 minute Monday meeting check ins, and a daily huddle to go over the day’s patients. Our leadership team (doctors and office manager) meets every other week on Wednesday after work to continually improve the practice.
Full time Compensation:
Student Loan forgiveness up to $132,500
