Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with physicians, physician assistants, and specialists to deliver comprehensive pain management services. Your expertise will help improve patient quality of life by providing targeted interventions, including injections, medication management, and alternative therapies. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to evaluate pain levels and underlying conditions.
  • Manage acute pain episodes utilizing multimodal approaches, including medication administration, nerve blocks, and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Utilize the Veradigm EMR system to document patient encounters accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic evaluations, interpret imaging results, and assist in developing individualized treatment plans for complex pain cases.
  • Participate in clinical research projects and clinical trials related to pain management innovations and new therapeutic modalities.
  • Provide patient education on pain management options, medication usage, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching to promote self-care and recovery.

Requirements

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with certification in Pain Management or related specialty; NCCPA certification required.
  • Proven experience in hospital settings with expertise in acute care, emergency medicine, or critical care environments.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; telehealth experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding for procedures like injections and nerve blocks, and ICD coding including ICD-10/ICD-9.
  • Hands-on experience with injection administration techniques including Botox/Botulinum toxin treatments; suturing skills are desirable.
  • Critical care experience such as ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure; familiarity with ventilator management and airway techniques preferred.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and patient assessments confidently.
  • Excellent communication skills for triage situations, patient education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA compliance standards necessary for safe practice. Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour
