Full Job Description
Pediatric practice in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a part-time office based physician assistant.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess vital signs for pediatric patients across all age groups.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with supervising physicians.
- Administer injections, including immunizations and botulinum toxin treatments, following aseptic techniques.
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations including phlebotomy, diagnostic imaging orders, and laboratory data collection.
- Educate families on health promotion, nutrition, medication administration, and disease prevention strategies.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in pediatrics or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
- Skilled in performing suturing, and other minor procedures relevant to pediatrics.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote patient assessments and follow-up visits.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology related to pediatric care.
