Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and identify medical issues.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions.
- Utilize Athena EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing, sonography, medical imaging, and specimen collection/processing.
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, medication management, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications; support health coaching initiatives.
- Collaborate with specialists in areas such as gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, occupational health, and post-acute care to ensure comprehensive treatment plans.
- Participate in telehealth consultations to extend care access and improve patient engagement remotely.
- Skills
- Strong proficiency in Athenahealth and familiarity with CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) a plus.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards ensuring compliance with NCQA standards; working knowledge of HIPAA regulations essential.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
