POSITION SUMMARY

The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner is primarily responsible for providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological health care services independently and under the guidance of the medical doctor for pregnancy prenatal care to low-risk patients, and postpartum care, as well as well-woman health maintenance, routine and problematic gynecological concerns, and menopause related issues. You will function under the provisions of your licensure to identify, manage and/or refer the health problems and maintenance of, the patient’s health by means of preventive care and health promotion. You will perform assignments which can vary from routine to exceptional in nature and are carried out with minimal guidance in accordance with clinic office practices and procedures. You will comply with organizational and departmental policies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate from a formal accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Nurse Practitioner license issued by the Arizona Board of Nursing
  • Valid Arizona Registered Nurse license
  • Valid Arizona Advanced Practice license
  • Current, unrestricted DEA license with prescribing authority
  • Current BLS
  • Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct women’s healthcare experience in an obgyn practice or setting.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clinical methods and proper technique.
  • Ability to meet and deal effectively with patients, associates, and the general public.

  • Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and social status.
  • Consults with medical doctors as necessary.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with physicians, administration, and staff.
  • Develops and implements treatment plan by prescribing/dispensing medications and/or injections in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws.
  • Prepares documentation for medical records including updating patient medical chart by posting examination and test results, diagnosis, medications, and treatment in written/computerized manner.
  • Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patient.
  • Provides monitoring and continuity of care between visits according to treatment plan including triaging patient calls/e-mails.
  • Dedicated admin time
  • Basic business English, spelling, and punctuation skills
  • Basic computer efficiency
  • Valid AZ driver’s license

IUD Insertion and removal of Mirena, Liletta, Kyleena, Skyla, Nexplanon and Paraguard. Endometrial Biopsy Birth Control Consults
Problem Gynecology Visits
Annual Well Woman Exams
Medicine Checks
OB Care

Type:

Full time Monday through Friday

Pay: $130,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
