Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within our Gastroenterology Division, providing comprehensive care to adult patients with various gastrointestinal diseases in our downtown Minneapolis outpatient GI Clinic. This position is primarily outpatient-focused with the ability to provide intermittent weekday coverage on the inpatient GI consult service.
The Gastroenterology team at Hennepin Healthcare diagnoses and treats a comprehensive variety of General GI disorders, Inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease. We have a special focus on healthcare diversity and equity in our safety-net patient population.   • Our Gastroenterology APPs work autonomously, but also have a highly collaborative relationship with our physicians to enhance patient care and for continued learning
  • This position holds day hours Monday – Friday only, no after hours or weekend duties
  • Our team consists of 5 physicians and 3 APPs
  • Patient appointments are 30 minutes in length. As a 1.0 FTE, you will hold a total of 36 hours of direct patient care each week.
  • Providers should be able to assist with the inpatient GI service needs for intermittent coverage for a few days every quarter. Any inpatient coverage needs (Monday to Friday) will count towards the 36 hours of direct patient care every week


QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current (or eligibility for) license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) issued by the State of Minnesota


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous GI experience


SALARY

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pay is based on year of licensure and specialty area. The grid below represents current pay rates (rates adjusted annually in April) for this position:
