Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings, including hospital, outpatient, and urgent care environments. Your expertise will support physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services, performing physical examinations, diagnosing conditions, and managing treatment plans. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of patient populations, from neonatal to geriatric, utilizing advanced clinical skills and cutting-edge technology to improve health outcomes. You will play a key role in clinical research initiatives, data collection efforts, and quality improvement projects that advance our mission of exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluation through ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures like radiology or ultrasound.
  • Administer injections, medications (including botulinum toxin treatments), and perform procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, or airway management following aseptic techniques.
  • Manage acute pain cases, triage patients effectively in emergency room or urgent care settings, and coordinate care for complex cases involving ventilator management or ICU patients.
  • Participate in clinical research trials and data collection efforts to support evidence-based practice improvements and contribute to ongoing medical studies.
  • Provide education on health coaching topics such as chronic disease management, medication adherence, nutrition, family planning, and addiction counseling.
  • Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Proven experience working within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU settings, or Level I/II trauma centers.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and diagnosis.
  • Hands-on experience performing procedures like suturing, catheterization (including cardiac catheterization), spinal taps, or neonatal ventilator management preferred.
  • Critical care experience including ventilator management and infectious disease care is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care clinics or hospital inpatient units while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
