Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time Physiatrist specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and medical history reviews, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic pain through interventions and other treatments and procedures.
- Utilize electronic health record (EMR) systems like Epic to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with specialists across disciplines such as neurology, orthopedics, psychiatry, cardiology, and radiology to optimize patient outcomes.
- Perform procedures related to neurocritical care, airway management, catheterization, and interventional radiology when necessary.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care, including discharge planning, post-acute care management, and follow-up evaluations.
- Engage in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives to enhance treatment protocols and patient safety standards.
Experience
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Proven experience working in inpatient settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or hospitals with Level II trauma capabilities.
- Familiarity with Epic EMR for documentation and patient management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical imaging modalities including CT scans relevant to musculoskeletal or neurological assessments.
- Experience with specialized procedures such as electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, wound care, and ultrasound-guided interventions.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and clinical evaluation techniques pertinent to rehabilitation medicine.
- Prior exposure to diverse patient populations including senior care, hospital medicine, post-operative recovery, or hospice settings is highly desirable.
