Physician Assistant – Vascular Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Vascular Surgery team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings and will play a vital role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedural care for vascular patients.

This position offers the opportunity to develop a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making within a supportive, team-based environment.

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

Position Overview

The Physician Assistant will work closely with vascular surgeons to provide comprehensive care across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include assisting in the operating room, managing inpatient care, and supporting outpatient clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

Surgical & Procedural Support

  • Assist vascular surgeons in the operating room across a full spectrum of vascular procedures
  • Provide perioperative care including pre-op preparation and post-op management

Inpatient Care

  • Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients, including new consults and follow-ups
  • Perform daily rounds and document progress notes
  • Coordinate and complete discharge summaries and transition-of-care planning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

Outpatient Clinic

  • Evaluate new and established patients in the clinic setting
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in coordination with supervising physicians
  • Perform in-office procedures, including wound care and vascular-related treatments

Clinical & Diagnostic Responsibilities

  • Interpret vascular imaging and diagnostic studies
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing imaging and laboratory data
  • Apply ICD-9/ICD-10 coding principles for accurate documentation and billing

Care Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate surgical scheduling and procedural planning
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, or eClinicalWorks
  • Collaborate with referring providers and multidisciplinary teams

Compensation & Additional Opportunities

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

  • Additional hourly compensation available for:
  • Optional evening call coverage after 5:00 PM
  • Weekend inpatient hospital rounding
  • Opportunity to significantly increase total compensation through additional coverage and performance incentives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current certification by the NCCPA
  • Active (or eligible) state licensure
  • Prior experience in surgical, vascular, or hospital-based care preferred
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
