Job Title: Locum Tenens Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider – Detroit, MI
Position Overview:
Royal Surgical Associates (RSA Locums) is a provider-led locum tenens staffing firm specializing in cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, CVICU, critical care, and related surgical subspecialties. Founded and run by experienced cardiac surgery PAs and healthcare professionals, we connect top-tier Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) with premier facilities nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Cardiac Surgery – First-assist in the OR for adult cardiac and cardiothoracic procedures (CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aortic cases, TAVR, thoracic surgeries, etc.). Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) and other advanced techniques when required. Robotic experience preferred but not required.
- CVICU – Central venous and dialysis catheter placement; arterial line and intra‑aortic balloon pump placement; retrieval of vascular tissue for bypass conduit; endoscopic retrieval; chest tube insertions; thoracentesis
Schedule & Assignment Details:
- Full time contract only with no weekends
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Michigan state license required to apply
- Certification as an Acute Care NP or equivalent for NPs; relevant PA certification required
- ACLS, BLS
- 1 to 2 years of cardiothoracic OR experience required

Pay: $135.00 – $150.00 per hour
