The Vascular Surgeon provides specialized surgical care for patients with disorders of the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems, with particular emphasis on emergency trauma cases requiring vascular intervention. This position involves participation in trauma team activations, performance of complex vascular and endovascular procedures, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and contribution to the academic mission through teaching and research activities at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Is comfortable working in a large public/county facility and Level-1 Trauma Center environment.
Can demonstrate working knowledge in vascular surgery, and competency in surgical techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes for arterial, venous, and endovascular conditions.
Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills.
Is self-directed and takes the initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach.
Collaborates with other vascular surgeons, trauma surgeons, interventional radiologists, residents, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams in overseeing and coordinating the care delivered to all patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings to optimize quality patient care.
Reviews patient medical charts to assist with diagnosis, treatment and care management.
Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary.
Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
Provides care education to patients and families.
Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.
Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.
Supports academic, educational and research endeavors.
Provides trauma call coverage and emergency vascular surgical services as assigned.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:Education & Training:
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Vascular Surgery or General Surgery with Vascular Surgery fellowship training.Licensure & Certification:
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Vascular Surgery required.
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Texas.Experience:
Experience in Level-1 Trauma Center environment preferred.
Academic teaching experience preferred.Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of advanced vascular and endovascular surgical techniques and care management across open and minimally invasive vascular procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of customer service principles.
Knowledge of safety and security principles.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Skill in solving complex clinical problems and making critical decisions under pressure.
Skilled in analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations.
