Full Job Description
A leading Level I Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (preferred) or Nurse Practitioner to support its inpatient trauma surgery service.
This is a high-acuity, procedure-heavy role within a collaborative surgical and critical care environment, offering exposure to both adult and pediatric trauma cases.
Position Highlights:
- 3 shifts per week | 12.5-hour shifts
- Mix of day and night coverage (60% nights)
- No 24-hour shifts
- Ongoing assignment due to long-term coverage need
- Work alongside experienced trauma surgeons and ICU teams
Clinical Scope:
- Inpatient trauma surgery coverage
- Manage 10–25 patients per shift
- Perform bedside procedures including:
- Central & arterial lines (ultrasound-guided preferred)
- Chest tube placement
- FAST exams
- Laceration repair
- Opportunity for occasional OR assistance (not required)
What They’re Looking for:
- Experience in Trauma, Critical Care, or Emergency Medicine
- Comfort managing high-acuity patients in a Level I or II trauma setting
- Strong procedural skillset
- Flexibility for rotating day/night schedule
Requirements:
- Active New Jersey License
- ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Active DEA & CDS
- Prior trauma-level experience required

Pay: $110.00 – $135.00 per hour
