Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to establish accurate diagnoses.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory tests, and other diagnostic tools; interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
- Administer medications and injections such as botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and IV infusions following established protocols and safety standards.
- Perform procedures including suturing, spinal taps, phlebotomy, and airway management with precision and aseptic technique.
- Manage acute care cases in hospital settings such as ICU or emergency departments, including ventilator management and trauma triage at Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Document patient encounters accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research trials and data collection efforts to advance medical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive experience with EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Epic for efficient documentation and data management.
- Proficiency in advanced procedures including catheterization (cardiac or urinary), dermabrasion, radiation therapy support, and esthetic laser treatments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Critical care expertise including ICU experience, ventilator management, acute pain management, infectious disease care, and post-acute care planning.
- Skilled in airway management techniques, tracheostomy care, dialysis procedures, and neonatal ventilator support.
- Experience in hospital medicine environments such as teaching hospitals or research settings; familiarity with public health initiatives is a plus.
- Ability to perform patient triage in urgent care or outpatient clinics; adept at patient assessment for diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Pay: $111,116.33 – $133,817.52 per year
