Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and emergency departments. This role involves supporting physicians and healthcare professionals with clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery. Candidates with experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or medical-surgical units are highly preferred. The position offers opportunities to work in diverse medical specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), and trauma centers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and physician orders
  • Operate EHR systems accurately to document patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans
  • Support physicians during procedures such as X-ray imaging or minor surgical interventions in the clinic or hospital environment
  • Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed during emergency situations
  • Assist with specimen collection, processing lab tests, and managing laboratory supplies
  • Support patient education on medication administration, health management, and post-treatment care
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to safety standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma settings to ensure seamless patient care

Skills

  • Proven experience in outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine environments
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently
  • Experience with X-ray procedures or OR support is a plus
  • Excellent patient service skills with compassionate communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as Geriatrics units, PICU, or Level I Trauma Centers
  • Knowledge of inpatient care procedures and medical-surgical practices is desirable
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required or willing to obtain upon hire
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and clinical tasks
