Lifekind Health is looking for full-time Pain Management Physicians with emphasis on intervention with all advanced therapies to join our team. We welcome compassionate Internist, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician, Addiction Physician, Family Medicine Physician, or Internal Medicine Physicians with an interest in pain management with a bio-psycho-social approach to join our rapidly growing practice. We provide efficient clinical support with hands-on training and mentoring, especially for new graduates. Our medical teams include multiple advanced practitioners to support physicians with patient volume and injection referrals. Come help us transform healthcare delivery.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with rotating weekends; on-call weekends
Location: Rancho Mirage, San Jacinto, or Victorville, CA – must be open to float to any of our 8 clinics
About the position:
- Conduct full and complete physical examinations of patients; gathering medical histories and records, identifying data, assessing chief complaints, illnesses, previous medical or family histories and or psycho-social characteristics
- Interpret and integrate data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Collaborate with other physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patient
- Understand the full range of standard intervention pain procedures
- Examine patients to determine discomfort level and cause of pain
- Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms and laboratory studies
- Diagnose and treat diseases, disorders and injuries based upon a patient’s medical history and results of their physical assessment to determine extent of pain, help diagnose conditions, or manage overall pain
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding procedures performed; always promote wellness and health maintenance
- Maintain a positive attitude, be compassionate and have great communication and problem-solving skills
- Provide relief from acute or chronic pain through medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other advanced interventional techniques
- Coordinate additional patient care such as; physical therapy, psychological therapy, and rehabilitation programs to offer patients a comprehensive plan with a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of their pain
- Supervise up to three Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants
- Provide in-service training to nurse practitioners and physician assistants to ensure those providers are accomplishing assigned job responsibilities and identifying candidates for interventional procedures
- Care for a medically complex and emotionally challenging patient population that requires compassion, empathy, and the ability to deescalate and appropriately react to unacceptable behavior in individual and group settings
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Uphold the company’s mission, vision, and values
- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine and an accredited pain fellowship program
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of California; Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
- Must possess valid board certification as a MD or DO
- Active DEA registration
- Must possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Knowledge of chronic disease management and population health principles
- Understanding of Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Value-Based Care (VBC) models
- Ability to manage complex and high-risk patient populations
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and collaboration within team-based care models
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (30+ patients per clinic day and 25+ procedures per procedure day)
