Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in Urgent Care. In this role, you will provide high-quality, timely medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries across the lifespan. You will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of conditions, performing minor procedures, and delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position requires strong clinical judgment, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and patient experience.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, infections, and injuries.
- Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
- Document all patient encounters accurately and timely using NextGen EMR (Electronic Medical Records) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members as needed.
- Provide patient education regarding health, wellness, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in CA.
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Proficient in minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting), x-ray interpretation and ECG interpretation.
- Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- ACLS/BLS certification required.
- Strong commitment to teamwork and patient-centered care.
Pay: $80.00 per hour
