Tidewater Physicians Multispecialty Group (TPMG), formerly Tidewater Primary Care Physicians, P.C., was formed in 1992 with four primary care medical groups in Newport News, Hampton, and Yorktown, Virginia. Today, TPMG has expanded its practices to include over 220 primary care, specialty physicians, and advanced practice clinicians who provide care to patients throughout the Hampton Roads and southeastern Virginia.

TPMG Thimble Shoals Family Medicine has been serving patients in Newport News and the surrounding area since 2003. The office provides preventative and primary care in a friendly environment that is fun-loving, energetic, and comfortable for the entire family. TPMG Thimble Shoals Family Medicine is seeking a full-time Advanced Care Provider (ACP) to join our team.

We are seeking a conscientious, empathetic, good communicator and organized ACP to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive primary care, including routine wellness visits, evaluation of acute concerns, and management of chronic conditions across the lifespan. The ACP will perform histories and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians as needed. Additional responsibilities include providing preventive care services such as screenings, immunizations, and health education, coordinating referrals to specialists, and ensuring continuity of care through appropriate follow-up. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate and timely documentation and practice in accordance with established clinical guidelines and regulatory standards. The practice consists of one Physician, one ACP, and support from an experienced administrative and clinical team that performs clinical administrative tasks freeing you to focus on patients.

Position details:

  • Full-time position: Monday-Friday 8.15am–5.15pm
  • Established, busy practice in Newport News, VA

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA license
  • Current national board certification
  • Current CPR certification.
