Duties
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review and physical examinations focused on urological health.
- Diagnose urological conditions utilizing medical imaging, laboratory results, and endoscopic procedures.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating surgical interventions, medication management, and minimally invasive techniques such as catheterization and botulinum toxin treatments.
- Perform surgeries and procedures including cystoscopies, urethral surgeries, and other advanced urological interventions.
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring seamless discharge planning and follow-up assessments.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to stay at the forefront of urological advancements and contribute to evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialized training in Urology from an accredited residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Urology is required.
- Proven experience with medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and ultrasound for diagnostic evaluation.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic or similar platforms for comprehensive patient documentation.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and pathology related to the urinary tract and reproductive organs.
- Experience performing surgical procedures including suturing, catheterization, and minimally invasive techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications in interventional radiology or critical care are advantageous.
