Full Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Psychiatric Scribe to join our mental health care team. The Psychiatric Scribe will be responsible for accurately documenting patient encounters and clinical information, assisting the psychiatrist with administrative tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow within the practice. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of patient care and supporting the psychiatrist in delivering timely and accurate treatment.
*This position is full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday, with approximately 8-hour shifts. Approximately 2 Saturdays per month and occasionally 1 Sunday depending on provider call responsibilities.*
Responsibilities
Medical Documentation:
-Accurately and efficiently document patient history, psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes during patient encounters.
-Record and organize data for patient visits, including symptoms, diagnoses, medications, and other relevant information.
Administrative Support:
-Assist with administrative tasks such as managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating follow-ups.
-Ensure all patient information is entered into the patient record promptly and accurately.
Communication:
-Serve as a liaison between the psychiatrist and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
-Relay information to patients regarding treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and other necessary instructions as directly by the psychiatrist.
Compliance and Confidentiality:
-Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
-Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures, including proper documentation practices and patient care protocols.
Skills
– Familiarity with psychiatric terminology and mental health disorders is a plus.
– Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
– Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for medical documentation.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team.
– Experience or knowledge of acute, crisis intervention/stabilization preferred.
