A busy, well-established plastic surgery practice in McLean, VA—specializing in breast cancer reconstruction—is seeking a motivated and skilled Surgical Physician Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside highly respected plastic surgeons who are recognized leaders in breast reconstruction.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented professional with strong surgical experience and exceptional communication skills. The ideal candidate thrives in both the operating room and clinical setting and is committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- First assist in the operating room for reconstructive and cosmetic procedures in hospitals and outpatient surgery centers
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and maintain accurate medical documentation
- Serve as a clinical liaison between physicians, patients, and care teams
- Write prescriptions, place orders, and interpret laboratory and imaging results
- Conduct patient visits independently and collaboratively, including hospital rounds
- Provide pre/post-operative care and follow-up
- Respond to clinical inquiries from medical staff/patients
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Certified Physician Assistant with surgical experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
