Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history intake, ensuring accurate data collection for diagnosis and treatment plans
- Assist in Orthopaedic and Spine surgeries.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document findings and streamline patient information management
- Administer injections, including botulinum toxin treatments and other medications, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Manage acute pain cases and provide emergency interventions in hospital or urgent care settings, including airway management and ventilator support when necessary
- Assist in procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, phlebotomy, and dermal filler injections while maintaining sterile technique
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, post-acute care, hospice & palliative medicine, and rehabilitation efforts
- Support clinical research initiatives by collecting data, participating in clinical trials, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
Experience
Requirements: Active Texas PA license (TMB), current NCCPA certification (PA-C), DEA registration, BLS and ACLS. Must be willing to complete credentialing at contracted ASCs and hospitals (typical 60–120 day process).
- Proven experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric ICU), or emergency rooms with a focus on emergency medicine or critical care
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms for medical records management and data collection
- Hands-on experience with procedures including suturing, intubation, ventilator management, radiation therapy assistance, dialysis support, and basic life support certification
- Background in diverse clinical settings such as outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, nursing homes, or home health services with familiarity in hospital medicine and medical-surgical units
- Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures and billing purposes; experience with ICD coding is highly desirable
- Exposure to telehealth services and remote patient monitoring tools to extend care beyond traditional settings
- Strong understanding of physiology principles related to patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation across pediatric to geriatric populations
